Texas School for the Deaf

Main Campus Additions

Construction of four (4) new buildings, renovation of seven (7) existing buildings, associated with the utilities, paving, parking and drainage improvements.  Upgraded the entire water and wastewater system within the approximately 80 acres campus.


Sidewalk Improvements

The existing sidewalk abutting the Texas School for the Deaf does not meet Americans With Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG).  In addition, a portion of the retaining wall supporting the embankment adjacent to the sidewalk collapsed during a storm event.  The proposed improvements include the construction of approximately 1,400 linear feet of new sidewalk and serpentine segmental retaining wall, a bus stop, tree planting, curb / gutter and the associated utility adjustments.

Nan Clayton Elementary School - Austin, Texas



New school with a 91,960 sq. ft. building,  access and circulation drives, parking, sidewalks, plays cape and play field areas, and water quality improvements.

Completion Date:  2006
Construction Cost:  $12.5 Million



Overton Elementary School - Austin, Texas


D
evelopment consists of a new elementary school and a new recreation center with the associated roadway, parking, driveway, water, wastewater and drainage improvements.

Timy Baranoff Elementary School - Austin, Texas


New school with an approx. 60,000 sq. ft. building,
a playing field, jogging trail,
playgrounds, and 90 parking spaces.

Kealing Middle School Addition - Austin, Texas



Renovation of existing main building and construction a new two-story building.  Proposed new building will include Library/Media Center and 16 classrooms, including 3 science classrooms/labs.

Completion Date:  August, 2007

Elementary School - Austin, Texas


Building expansion include the addition of eight classrooms
and also the removal of several of the portable buildings
.

Crockett High School - Austin, Texas



Existing library expansion.  The new building addition consisted of 7,770 sq. ft. with the sidewalk,
grading, drainage, water and wastewater improvements. 

Completion Date: 1999
Construction Cost:  Approx. $1.0 Million



Fulmore Middle School - Austin, Texas


New building for laboratories and classrooms.  Site improvements included grading, drainage,
detention pond, water and wastewater.

Completion Date:  October, 2000

University of Texas at Austin

Whitaker Field at Waller Creek - Austin, Texas


Bank stabilization for three most severely eroded areas along the west bank of Waller Creek within the University of Texas (UT) Whitaker Field property boundary.  In addition, RC&A prepared a Master Erosion Plan for the Waller Creek along Whitaker Field.  This stretch of Waller Creek spans from 47th Street at the downstream end to 51st Street at the upstream end in Austin, Texas.  It consists of approx. 1,800 feet of stream length.


Completion Date: On-Going
Construction Cost: Phase 1 - $380,000  Phase 2 - $1 Million (estimated)


University of Texas at Austin
Thermal Energy Storage Facility



The project site is located off the southeast corner of Dean Keeton Blvd. and San Jacinto Street, behind the Simkins Dormitory and consisted of approximately 1.2 acres.  The area is currently occupied by an asphalt parking lot and some greenspace between the parking lot and the back of Simkins Dormitory.  The site plan included a pump station located within a portion of the ground floor of the San Jacinto parking garage, a 105-foot diameter tank (sitting on a 109-foot diameter foundation), and the associated parking, driveway, drainage and utility improvements.  The height of the tank approximates the height of the parking garage. 

University of Texas Library Storage Building Addition

Add approximately 55,000 square feet of new storage area for the existing UT Library Storage Building in the J.J. Pickle Research Center in Austin.


T.S. Painter Hall Wastewater Line Improvements


Wastewater line improvements from Painter Hall building to an existing manhole located on West 24th Street.  The proposed wastewater line improvements consist of approximately 80 lineal feet.
